(BA, Bogazici University, Istanbul, 1992; MA Europa Institut University of Saarland, 1994, Ph.D. CES, KU Leuven, 2000)

I am an assistant professor (tenured) at the University of Kent at Canterbury. Before coming to the UK, I was at the Goethe University of Frankfurt and at the Centre for Financial Studies. I had visiting professor positions at the European Central Bank and the Sabanci University, Istanbul.  My research focuses on Monetary Economics, International Macroeconomics, and European Integration. I like to read Hayyam, Faulkner, Cemal Süreyya, to see movies of von Trier and Mihalkov and to listen to Keith Jarret and Barbaros Erköse. I enjoy swimming and olive trees of the Mediterranean.
