Course Site

The course will be held on the Solbosch campus of the Free University of Brussels (ULB, Université Libre de Bruxelles). The campus is in a beautiful area. It is only five minutes' walking from the forest. It is also close to the city center (10 to 15 minutes by taxi; 20 to 30 minutes by bus or tram depending on the area you want to go to).

The campus has two main entrances on:

Avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt or Avenue Adolphe Buyl

The registration desk, the seminar room and the computer lab are on the ground floor of the Building J next to the campus entrance on the Avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt (shown by the red arrow).

Accommodation

Accommodation in student housing on the campus

A limited number of rooms are available for the course participants at the student house Maison Nelson Mandela (Building F2 on the map). The student rooms are at two minutes walking distance from the Building J where the courses will take place. Each room has a shower and a toilet and there is a communal kitchen. You will find bed linen, a towel and soap in your room but should bring any other toiletries yourself.

For reservations, please download and complete the reservation form and fax it to EcoMod at  (+32 2 650 4137) before July 1. If, for any reason you need to cancel your reservation, you should do so before July 4. After this date you will be charged €50 to cover administrative costs.

Transportation from the Airport

The university campus is about 20 minutes by car from the airport. Knowing that you can easily exchange foreign currencies at the airport (most taxis also accept credit cards) we suggest two options:

Option 1: You can take a taxi from the airport to the hotel. This will cost about 35.

Option 2: You can take the train (there is one every 15 minutes from the airport) to the Central Station (4) and then take a taxi to the hotel. The ride from the Central Station to the hotel would cost about 13

Transportation from the City Center

The university campus is about 15 minutes by taxi and 30 minutes by bus or tram from the city center.

To go to the ULB campus you can take bus number 71 or trams 93 or 94 and get off at the stop "ULB".

Be careful!!!

The ULB has several campuses. You need to go to the main campus which is the Solbosch Campus of the Université Libre de Bruxelles which is between Avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt and Avenue Adolphe Buyl.

Registration on the First Day

We will be happy to welcome the participants on Monday between 8:15 and 9:00 in the room "Salle Van Buuren" (also called J 4 or J 1-106) in the building J (number 48 on the campus map, on Avenue Franklin Roosevelt). You will receive the course material and some additional information. There will also be sandwiches, drinks and fruit for breakfast.

The courses will begin at 9:00.
