Goal and Topics

The goal of the conference is to promote and stimulate the exchange of ideas in the field of economic research applied to the Middle East and North African countries. The conference will cover all areas of economics and finance with application to the MENA region.

The conference is co-organized by the EcoMod Network and the Middle East Economic Association. It will be held on the Solbosch campus of the Free University of Brussels.

Conference Venue

The conference will take place at the Solbosch campus of the Free University of Brussels (ULB, Université libre de Bruxelles).  The conference rooms are in the building H (see map).

Important Dates and Deadlines

APRIL 15, 2005: Deadline for submission of the electronic version (in PDF format) of the paper.  Please click here for PDF instructions. The papers will be posted in PDf format on the conference web site. All the papers presented at the conference will be published in the Conference Proceedings in the form of a CD-ROM. The registration fee is 100 euros and it  includes:
Congress Information / Documentation
Morning and Afternoon Refreshments Breaks

Congress Lunches
Welcome Reception (June 2).

Registration for the gala dinner (June 3)  is optional and costs 60 euros.

Accompanying person registration fee  is 80 euros and it covers:

Please note that the fee for accompanying persons does not include admission to the scientific sessions, refreshment and lunch, or any Congress or Meeting documentation.
