Goal and Topics

The goal of the conference is to promote the exchange of ideas among economists conducting quantitative analysis for policy and decision making in the public and private sector. Particular emphasis will be placed on econometric and applied general equilibrium modeling. The meeting will cover all areas of applied modeling for economics, finance and decision making in the government and business world.

The annual conference of the Global Economic Modeling Network is the leading meeting in the field of policy modeling in the world. It brings together several hundred researchers from all continents.

Software Training

In conjunction with the conference, an intensive one-day course will be organized on modeling with GAMS on June 28, 2005. The General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS) is a high-level modeling system for mathematical programming problems. GAMS is tailored for complex, large scale modeling applications.

Conference Venue

The conference will take place at the Conrad Istanbul, one of the best five star hotels in Istanbul with excellent conference facilities, located in the city center adjacent to Yildiz Palace with stunning views on the Bosphorus and the Old City.

Hotel Reservation

We have a highly discounted (US$150 for a single room, and US$160 for a double room) rate for the conference at the Hotel Conrad Istanbul where the conference will take place. If you want to stay at Conrad, we advise you to make your reservation as soon as possible as the number of rooms available at discounted rates are limited. Please note that the fee for accompanying persons does not include admission to the scientific sessions, coffee and lunch, or any Congress or Meeting documentation.

MAY 1, 2005: Deadline for submission of the electronic version (in PDF format) of the paper.  Please click here for PDF instructions. The papers will be posted in PDf format on the conference web site. All the papers presented at the conference will be published in the Conference Proceedings in the form of a CD-ROM. Click here to upload the electronic version (PDF) of your full paper.

Publication

All the papers presented at the conference will be published on a CD-ROM by the EcoMod Network in the conference proceedings. The papers will also be posted in PDF format on the conference web site. The copyright stays with authors so that they can publish the paper in any other formats.
